Timothy has previously served as Music Director for the Park Slope Singers and the Elision Chamber Ensemble. He has been guest director for the professional Choir of St Ignatius Loyola, the Dessoff Choirs, Downtown Voices, and Apollo’s Fire Musettes. As a clinician, Timothy has worked with choirs at Heidelberg University, Lycoming College, and this summer will work as a teaching artist for a new High School Choral Workshop under the auspices of Artefact Institute. Timothy’s choirs collaborate widely, including such projects as David Lang’s Mile-Long Opera and New York Theatre Workshop’s The Events. He has provided studio vocal instruction for students of all levels and ages and, most recently, was a voice instructor for Christ Church Cathedral School (UK) and Trinity Youth Choirs (NYC). As an actively performing teaching artist, Timothy brings fresh musical and vocal perspectives to choral music-making. He received his M.M in Choral Conducting from the Manhattan School of Music, where he assisted in preparing choirs for the New York Philharmonic, for David Briggs’ organ transcription of Mahler’s 2nd Symphony, and premiered several new compositions for voices alone and for voices and electronics.
